Landon Wiedenman is a fine wood and exotic materials artist specializing in unique custom woodwork. Drawing his inspiration from the sharp contrast found in the landscape of the Montana of his youth. Wiedenman has pursued the art of inlay and fine wood working, originally as the first step towards building custom instruments.  Along the way he found an affinity for exotic woods, ivory, and shell, now his mediums of choice.   Landon Wiedenman can create literally any design using coral, water buffalo horn, turquoise, Damascus, or any material that provides the colors and textures needed.  The palette and canvas are limited only by your imagination.  Wiedenman has developed techniques which can inlay a curved surface with a radius of just one half inch, wrapping  your design around the grip of a knife, a sculptured jewelry box, or even the button of a guitar machine.

Artistic Statement

"I strive to embody the soul of humanity in my work. Specifically, within a perspective of 'whole-ism,' to illustrate the serenity and beauty of life while acknowledging and embracing turmoil. It's become a quest to realize the eternity of a day or a week that also lives within the moment. When I say that 'I am going to work,' I am speaking of my life’s work. This is no pile of dirty dishes, it becomes my singular focus and being.”

- Landon G. Wiedenman

“I do all of my work by hand and prefer to use only natural materials with natural colors, foregoing stains and dyes. I feel that the time spent scouring the earth to find the perfect material for 'the fleeting blue glint in her eyes' is required for the level of class I want my work to represent. The work I create is the first of it's kind and the goal of utmost importance is to produce work that is appreciated as art foremost, and as furniture or a guitar inlay subsequently. With each piece created, bear in mind that I design it to withstand generations by using classic design and incorporating the results of age & movement. No fine material or technique is ever compromised, no expense of time or money is spared." - Landon G. Wiedenman
