This is the design process I
go through with my clients:
1. SUBMISSION: Submit a design idea or theme.
Before we get started it helps to define what budget range we
are working with.
2. PRE-DESIGN & QUOTE: First you/I
do a rough sketch to get a basic idea of layout and design elements,
which I submit to you with a quoted price. Then you can give
feedback and we can modify it. We may do this a couple of times..
3. FINAL DESIGN: After we settle on a design
outline I’ll do a refined drawing and submit it to you as well.
This final drawing will also include a materials/color list
with images of materials that will be used. We can modify this
a few times. Upon request I can put together a computer model
of the finished drawing showing the actual materials. So this
gives us a really good idea of what it will actually look like
without doing any cutting.
4. EXECUTION: Now that we know exactly what
the inlay and/or furniture will be I start cutting and putting
it together.
5. SHIPMENT: Each piece is sealed in plastic
to protect against humidity changes during shipment. This prevents
against any cracking in the wood or finish due to extreme environmental
changes. The piece is then professionally packaged and insured
for the full value. Shipping cost is extra and will be billed
with your final invoice.
Turn around time
- Generally between 2-10 weeks depending on what other jobs
I have. However, I always state that time cannot be of the essence.
I take as much time as is required to meet the highest standards
of design and craftsmanship, this assures that we get a finished
product that we are both satisfied with.
- Payment -
Large jobs require a $300
minimum deposit to secure design services and 50% payment to
start the job or put it on the shop schedule. Once we’re satisfied
with the final drawing we can start cutting. The remaining 50%
is paid prior to shipment. For jobs under $300 the balance must
be paid in full before design. While all payments are final
satisfaction is guaranteed. Wiedenman
Custom retains copyrights on all designs unless otherwise agreed
upon.
