This is a prototype box that I've been working on. It has a hidden button (not the inlay) that activates a self-opening drawer. The case is made from fiddleback maple, redwood burl and features solid brass mechanisms. I designed this piece around the Redtailed Hawk feather, which is inlaid into the lid with fossil walrus ivory and swordfish bill. I still have a few more elements to add before I'm satisfied with the finished product.
